Important Patient Information
Thank you for choosing to see me for your outpatient appointment. I am required by law to provide you with the information outlined below. This is not a bill but does include some information about charges, which you may wish to pass on should someone else be settling any bills. Please note that even if someone else is paying your bill or you have private medical insurance, you are responsible for paying any charge which they do not pay.
My fee for an initial consultation will not exceed £320.00 and my fee for any follow-up consultation will not exceed £250.00. These estimates are correct as at the date of this letter.
Following your consultation you may need certain tests (for example, blood tests or imaging such as an X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI or CT scan) to help me diagnose your condition. If the test is undertaken by a clinic or hospital, the fees for those tests will be charged to you, or your private medical insurer, separately.
If consultation or surgical fees are unpaid, you will be liable for costs incurred to recover the fee. If there are any fees which I will charge in relation to any of the tests I advise that you have, I will let you know what those will be.
We require at least 48 hours notice if you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment or procedure without charge. For appointments on a Monday, we must receive notification before 11am on the preceding Thursday.
Please note that most insurers will not cover a cancellation fee so you would be invoiced directly.
If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation, to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees.
I am recognised by most of the private medical insurance companies. Please note you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer.
I am legally obliged to tell you if I have any financial interests in the Hospitals or Clinics I see patients at or any equipment there. I can confirm I do not have any such financial interests.
You can compare independent information about the quality of private treatment offered at the hospital and other private healthcare providers from the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) website: www.phin.org.uk.
To ensure your consultation runs as smoothly as possible, I may use AI transcription services to summarise the consultation. This is anonymised at the point of use. If you would prefer this not to be used, please let me know at the beginning of the consultation.
